I think I will be saying this over and over again for a long time, but this journey of photographing 100 families has already transformed me. I am four families deep and oh my goodness each family I've gotten the honor of photographing has rocked me and encouraged me and changed me.

I am in awe of the love that parents walk in and the homes that they are cultivating. Grateful is the best word I can use to describe how I feel when I walk into a family's home who does not know me at all and opens their lives for me to document and be a part of for one beautiful day.

I am more grateful than I was a month ago when I started this journey. I am more grateful, more alive, and more excited about this project than I thought I could be.

Thank you to the families who have already opened their homes to me and my camera and thank you for all of you coming in the near future!

Here is my first family and what a treasure of a first family they are. The Brooks family means so much to me. I photographed Rachael and Danny's wedding over 4 years ago! And they have the most hilarious curly haired ginger, Tyler. It's beautiful to watch this family grow and change.

If I could wrap up the energy of Rachael, Danny, and Tyler and somehow harness it for myself, I would become Wonder Woman. They are so alive! I couldn't have laughed more with them. They are three big kids enjoying life together in every moment.

When I think of the Brooks family these words come to mind: joy, big belly laughs, BIG love, care, contentment and SO MUCH LIFE.

I couldn't have started this project with a more fun family.

I'm choosing a title for each family that captures a bit of their spirit to me. The Brooks family gets the title "wild at heart." They are wild in the best of ways and everything they do comes straight from the heart.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this family and am honored to share these images of them with you.
